What is alignment?

It’s getting everything in your life working together.

Life can sometimes feel like a struggle. Getting customers is hard, fitting in time to do ‘life’ things is nonexistant, and underlying all these things, you feel like you are not ‘you’. If only you could just have more money, lose weight and have tons of staff to do the work, then you could get back to being ‘you’, how you used to be.

Well, I’m sorry to say that it isn’t going to happen. At some point we all have to give up on childhood dreams, let go of certain fantasies and start facing reality. We are all getting older, no-one is coming to save us and we’re not going to win the lottery.

So what can be done.

Firstly, and honest assessment of your personality. You can do this on your own and for free. You can just sit and be honest with yourself, or there are tons of systems and it it all depends on what your personal beliefs are. Some people believe in star signs and human design based on them, others more business orientated methodologies such as the Myer Briggs type indicator. Many will offer an expensive fancy test, but there are usually free versions of everything.

For me, I like the Myer Briggs. It tells me im an introvert, big picture thinker, a thinker (not feeler) and I am good at decision making.

Using this, I realised that running a business as a business advisor where I have to physically see people every day does not work for me (being an introvert, it exhausts me). Nor does working as a specialist consultant (I’m a generalist big picture thinker). I also was honest with myself and realised that i’m a super grumpy person in the morning, and no amount of trying will get me out of bed early or working with people at that time. I then redesiged my work around my personality so that I could work in the way that best suits me.

Slow changes lead to big results

You can’t change everything and you can’t change things overnight.

Have you had a business coach before? You get all motivated, create all the plans, and then, as the months wear on, the plans fall to the side and don’t materialise.

One part that most advisors and coaches leave out is how to very slowly form habits to implement the changes we want. Part of this involves some compromise and letting go and a lot of it is honesty of who you are and what is actually working or not.

I will work with you to help you implement incremental changes that will slowly bring everything into line until they make a big impact. See my pricing for what support my packing includes.
